Full Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: Nairobi – Amboseli

Transfer to Amboseli National Park, famous for its big game – elephants, lions and cheetahs are the main attractions – and for its great scenery beauty. Amboseli embodies five main wildlife habitats, plus a generally dry lake-bed – Lake Amboseli. These are open plains; extensive stands of yellow-barked acacia woodland; rocky, lava strewn thorn-bush country; swamps and marshes; and at the western end of the reserve, above Namanga, the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok rising to over 2,760m (8.300ft) and still for the most part zoologically unexplored. Enjoy your afternoon game drive at Amboseli National Park.

Meals: Lunch, and Dinner

DAY 2: Amboseli – Lake Nakuru

Early morning pick up, then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it’s alkaline and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingoes, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingoes in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore.

The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here.

Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 3: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara

Your lodge is set high on a bush-cloaked hill with long views over the savannah and down to the winding coils of the hippo-filled Mara River, it stands center-stage to one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife arenas, with a ringside seat for the ‘greatest wildlife show on earth’, the legendary migration of the wildebeest.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 4: Maasai Mara

After breakfast, we have a full day dame drive, with packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-manned lion, as well as its abundant resident wildlife and its one of the few places where it’s possible to see the big five during a morning’s game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one’s vehicle and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks 4 of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 5: Maasai Mara – Lake Naivasha – Nairobi

Enjoy your early morning game viewing at Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Later transfer to Nairobi and arrive late evening. End of tour with drop off at the airport or city hotel.
